When you lose a tooth getting it replaced is highly important. However, fortunately there is always the option of visiting your local dentist to discuss all of your options for tooth replacement. By doing so you will be making an investment in your oral health and ensure fewer dental complications in the future. One option would be having dental implants.

Different Types of Dental Implants:

Single

A single dental implant is actually the most common type of implant given and essentially it involves the replacement of a single tooth. This is done by placing the implant into the patient’s jawbone and then adhering a crown or a bridge on top of the implant. Doing so avoids disturbing the surrounding teeth.

Multiple
Another form of dental implants is referred to as the multiple and a patient qualifies for this if they have lost more than one tooth. The same process described above with a single dental implant applies to the procedure of a multiple implant procedure. In this case the method is used to repair multiple teeth.

Full Arch
The full arch dental implant is a good option for a patient who has lost either all or most of their teeth in a single arch of their mouth. First a denture would be placed on top of the patients mouth, and then two to four implants would be inserted into the jawbone arch to provide more support for the full structure.
